Urban landscape, Northern Italy
At my home town, I am sitting outdoor in a hot summer afternoon. The strong light fades the objects and strengthens the shadows. All at once, I am not sure where reality stands. Where is my true place? Should I stay or should I go back? How can I distinguish what is real from what is not, what I think I am from what I actually am?
At the center of the composition there are aerial cables and their projected silhouettes, which create a cobweb linking - or rather entrapping - both physical objects and cast shadows. The downspout and the two red shuts with white curtains are the only real objects which float on a mesh of verisimilar illusion.
To achieve the unusual light effect, I have used a ground toned in gold.
